The bathing areas located around Sóller, on the iconic island of Mallorca, are true Mediterranean havens. These spots offer an unparalleled experience, combining natural landscapes of great beauty with the pleasure of relaxing under the sun and enjoying their waters.
The Port de Sóller Beach is, without a doubt, the closest and most convenient option, especially recommended for family tourism. Flanked by a wide gastronomic offer, it allows you to combine relaxing on the sand with tasting typical dishes of the region. During the summer months, sun lounger and umbrella rental services are fully available.
For those traveling by car, Port de Sóller has two main parking areas: the Lepanto car park and the Sa Torre car park, both with regulated payment systems.
Approximately an hour’s drive from Sóller is Cala Tuent, an authentic natural refuge that captivates with its small pebble beach and crystal-clear waters. Surrounded by impressive mountains, this cove offers a quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle, ideal for disconnecting. For those who prefer to avoid the car, it is also possible to arrive by ferry from Port de Sóller with the company Barcos Azules.
In Cala Tuent you will find a single restaurant, Es Vergeret, located on the beach and accessible on foot. We recommend enjoying a meal there while contemplating the spectacular views of the sea and the Serra de Tramuntana.
About a 30-minute drive from Sóller is Cala Deià, one of Mallorca’s most emblematic coves thanks to its stunning natural surroundings. Its transparent waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing by the sea. In addition, the nearby village of Deià offers excellent dining options to complete the day.
The cove has a small paid car park that usually fills up quickly during high season. If you can’t find a spot, a good alternative is to park in the village and walk down to the cove on a pleasant 20-minute stroll.
In Cala Deià you will find two well-known restaurants: Ca’s Patro March and Can Lluc. The former has achieved international fame after appearing in television series, films, and advertising campaigns, so it is recommended to book a table well in advance.
About a 40-minute drive from Sóller is Es Port des Canonge, a small rocky cove located in a charming coastal village that retains all the Mediterranean essence. This spot stands out for its tranquil and authentic atmosphere, perfect for relaxing by the sea, strolling around, and enjoying the calm offered by the coast of the Serra de Tramuntana.
In the port you will find several bars and restaurants where you can eat facing the sea, although our recommendation is Can Toni Moreno, well known for its excellent paellas and fideuás made with fresh local produce.
If you venture to drive approximately an hour from Sóller, you will reach Sa Calobra, one of Mallorca’s most spectacular and unique beaches. Surrounded by impressive cliffs and located at the end of a narrow gorge, this cove captivates with its intensely turquoise waters and extraordinary natural environment. It is also possible to access it by ferry from Port de Sóller with the company Barcos Azules.
Sa Calobra is also the starting point for one of the island’s most famous excursions: Torrent de Pareis. This route is as spectacular as it is demanding, recommended only for people in good physical condition and always accompanied by an experienced local guide. To enjoy it more safely, it is advisable to start very early in the morning, thus avoiding the hottest hours and the largest influx of visitors.
Very close to Deià lies Cala Llucalcari, a small and quiet cove surrounded by cliffs and Mediterranean nature. This spot, much less known than other beaches in the area, is perfect for those looking to disconnect and enjoy a wilder and more authentic environment. Its crystal-clear waters invite swimming and snorkeling, while the landscape offers a sense of calm difficult to find elsewhere on the island.
Access to Cala Llucalcari requires a small effort, but the experience is worth it. There is no designated parking, so people usually park on the sides of the road. From there, it is necessary to descend along a path with some somewhat steep sections, so we recommend avoiding this excursion with small children or people with reduced mobility.
Each of these coves offers a different and special experience, making a stay in Sóller a perfect opportunity to discover some of Mallorca’s most impressive and authentic landscapes.
